ALL ABOUT GRACE

As I opened up Alan Hiu blog, I managed to read the articles of Pastor Joseph Prince entitled “All About Grace” and an extract from his words saying,
“Grace is possibly one of the most misunderstood concepts by Christians today. And yet Grace is integral to our walk with God – for Grace is actually Jesus Christ. He is Grace personified. His Grace is evident through the work of the Gospel – for the Gospel itself is Grace.”

As I study the word grace it began to open up more gems to me. Below are some things I learned from the word grace itself.
GRACE is mentioned in the Bible many times.
The word "GRACE" appears in the Old Testament approximately 38 times.
The word "GRACE" appears in the New Testament approximately 128 times.

The word "GRACE" as it is used in the Old Testament can mean the following:
GRACE can mean: graciousness, kindness, favor, well-favored, highly favored.
GRACE can also mean: to beseech, to give, grant, to entreat, merciful, to have pity upon, and make supplication.

The word "GRACE" in the New Testament can mean the following:
GRACE can mean: divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in life; benefit, favor, gift, and divine favor.
GRACE can mean: God’s goodness, love, mercy, and kindness toward people without regard to their work, deeds, and in spite of what they deserve.

As 2 Timothy 2:15 says to “Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” Jesus says also “Take my yoke upon you, and LEARN OF ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you shall find rest to your souls.”

GRACE came by, is by, and is of who?
Romans 5:17-GRACE…BY…JESUS CHRIST.
John 1:17-GRACE AND TRUTH CAME BY JESUS CHRIST.
Acts 15:11-GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS.
Ephesians 2:7-GRACE…THROUGH CHRIST JESUS.
1 Timothy 1:14-GRACE OF OUR LORD.
Galatians 1:6-GRACE OF CHRIST.

Jude 4-GRACE OF OUR GOD.
1 Corinthians 1:3-GRACE…FROM GOD…AND…JESUS CHRIST.
2 Thessalonian 1:12-GRACE OF OUR GOD AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Ephesians 1:6-HIS GRACE…HATH MADE US ACCEPTED.
Galatians 1:15-GOD…BY HIS GRACE.
1 Peter 5:10-THE GOD OF ALL GRACE.

We can only come to God by Jesus Christ; by the GRACE He extends to us; by the GRACE which is in Him, by Him, through Him, of Him, and from Him.

The Bible tells us that:
Hebrews 13:9-IT IS A GOOD THING THAT THE HEART BE ESTABLISHED WITH GRACE.
Our hearts be established with what?
Colossians 3:16-GRACE IN YOUR HEARTS.
1 Peter 3:7-THE GRACE OF LIFE.
Romans 11:5-THE ELECTION OF GRACE.
Romans 5:2-FAITH INTO THIS GRACE.

About Obedience:
Romans 1:5- RECEIVED GRACE…FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH.
A person receives GRACE for obedience to the faith; for obedience to Jesus Christ (the Word).
Then obedience is unto righteousness, as it is written:
Roman 6:16 - OBEDIENCE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS.

About Righteousness:
Romans 5:21- GRACE REIGN(s) THROUGH RIGHTEOUSNESS.
As already stated, we received GRACE for "obedience" to the faith, to Jesus, to the Word; for obedience unto righteousness, and GRACE reigns through righteousness.
The Scriptures tell us that GRACE reigns through righteousness.

We are to minister?
Ephesians 3:2-DISPENSATION OF THE GRACE.
Acts 20:24-THE GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD.
Acts 20:32-THE WORD OF HIS GRACE.

You are called:
Galatians 1:15- BY HIS GRACE.

We are warned of "another gospel" regarding God’s precious GRACE:
Galatians 1:6-I MARVEL THAT YE ARE SO SOON REMOVED FROM HIM THAT CALLED YOU INTO THE GRACE OF CHRIST UNTO ANOTHER GOSPEL.
Galatians 5:4-WHOSOEVER OF YOU ARE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW; YE ARE FALLEN FROM GRACE.
Have you:
Hebrews 10:29-DONE DESPITE UNTO THE SPIRIT OF GRACE?
Galatians 2:21-DO NOT FRUSTRATE THE GRACE OF GOD: FOR IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COME BY THE LAW, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN.
2 Corinthians 6:1-WE…BESEECH YOU ALSO THAT YE RECEIVE NOT THE GRACE OF GOD IN VAIN.
Acts 13:43-They PERSUADED THEM TO CONTINUE IN THE GRACE OF GOD.
2 Corinthians 12:9-MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.
Romans 1:5-BY WHOM WE HAVE RECEIVED GRACE AND APOSTLESHIP, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH AMONG ALL NATIONS, FOR HIS NAME.
Romans 4:16- THEREFORE IT IS OF FAITH, THAT IT MIGHT BE BY GRACE.
Romans 5:2-BY WHOM ALSO WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE WHEREIN WE STAND, AND REJOICE IN HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD.

And many more scriptures .....

SHARING AND SHOWING GRACE GRACIOUSLY

Those who claim to know God’s grace must speak and act graciously toward all. Jesus was “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). He proclaimed truth in such a way that people “marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth” (Luke 4:22) and His conduct was gracious as well.
Like Jesus, we must share the truth of grace graciously so that this wonderful message will not be tarnished, undermined, and even contradicted by ungracious words and conduct. How can we be gracious as we seek to proclaim grace? First of all we see that:

1. Grace is forgiving. We demonstrate the kind and loving nature of God’s grace when we grant forgiveness to those who offend us (cf. Eph. 4:32). The New Testament idea of forgiveness contains the idea of release. When we forgive those who hurt us, we release them from being the target of our resentment.

2. Grace is kind. It bestows on another thoughtful and helpful goodness (cf. Eph. 2:7). Kindness is more than doing or saying something good. A gracious spirit considers the feelings of others and deals gently with them with good will and a helpful intention. Love is also kind and gentle.

3. Grace is humble. The grace we experience as Christians removes all grounds for boasting because it is an absolutely free gift unmerited by anything we are or do. It keeps us from having an boasted opinion of ourselves (Rom.12:3). Grace admits a sinful past forgiven and an imperfect present.

4. Grace is encouraging. The biblical idea of encouragement implies the help of one who comes alongside of another to support or strengthen them in time of need. Someone with a gracious disposition reaches down to help others and lift them up (cf. 2 Cor. 8:9). A gracious spirit does not unlovingly criticize, condemn, discourage, or suppress someone so as to hinder their growth.

5. Grace is liberating. Grace has freed us from bondage to the law and legalistic demands (cf. Gal. 5:1-13). A legalistic spirit tyrannizes people with arbitrary and artificial expectations that stifle Christian growth, but a gracious spirit allows them to grow to become more like Christ. A gracious attitude toward others frees them to be what God wants them to be instead of demanding that they become what we or others might want them to be.

6. Grace is patient. The Word of God tell us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). That growth is a process in which grace teaches us - Titus 2:11-12 . Since God is a patient God like parent waiting for a child to mature. Likewise fellow believers are in a developmental process and they are not a finished product. We exhibit graciousness when we allow others the room and the time to become more Christlikeness in understanding, character, and conduct.

Conclusion
“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one” (Colossians 4:6).

THE POWER OF THE NEW COVENANT

God looked for a covenant that could not be annulled. He looked for a covenant that all the demons and the devil could never break. God look for a covenant that sin as black as midnight was unable to drown out. God and His Son together cut this covenant. This is the blood covenant that can never be broken.
When you fail, God doesn’t frown. When you fall into sin, God doesn’t black out. When you struggle, God takes you through thick and thin.

God is doing a new thing in your new life in New Covenant. The New Covenant gives you New Revelation of God and His Word. It gives the New Anointing of God. A New Way of Worship and bring the glory down. It brings New Wine of Grace that will be released from heaven.

The enemy will be trampled down and crushed under your feet. There will be a great release and great revival coming. This is our season to overcome and reign in life. This is the New Covenant cup which pours out for you. This is the Power of His New Covenant!

The New Covenant is in the Blood of Jesus. The Precious Blood of Jesus! The Blood of Jesus is Powerful and Living Today. The Blood of Jesus speaks. If the blood of Abel can speak so then the Blood of Jesus speak “better things”. It speaks Life, Health, Healing, Blessings, Glory and Power! The Blood is speaking on behalf of His people today. It has a voice louder than any voice in this world. It is a Glorious and Majestic Voice that is shaking everything in heaven and earth. But it is also a Compassionate, Loving and Graceful Voice that is constantly speaking to us the believers. The Voice of the Blood of Jesus is the very voice of the Son of God. I believe the year coming 2011 will be a Year of Great Happenings for the Church. A voice from heaven will speak. It is a Grace Voice that says, “this is my beloved church which I am well pleased” as Jesus.

As the scriptures say in Hebrew 12:25 – “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks …” So verse 28 says, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace…..” Let this KINGDOM GRACE within us manifest power, glory, joy, peace and above all righteousness in the Spirit of God.

LITTLE FAITH

Little Faith

When you hear the term, ‘little faith’, do you automatically think quantity of faith? For a long time I have thought of little faith as an amount of faith. It is usually used to tell people they don’t have enough faith. If they had more, they would see the manifestation of what they are believing for. I have a slightly different view on this. You don’t have to agree with me, but this makes more sense to me. First lets see some of the Word of God:

A) Matt 8:25-26 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” 26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. (NKJV)

“Why are you fearful, o you of little faith?” The disciples were full of fear, not full of faith. So 1) one aspect of little faith is fear. Why were they afraid? Because they were weighing up possible outcomes for their situation based on the natural circumstance they found themselves in. They viewed the natural as true and therefore unchangeable. When you look at your mountain as immovable, you are of little faith.

B) Matt 6:30-31 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ (NKJV)

“O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry.” 2) When you worry, you are of little faith. Why? Because again you are looking at the natural circumstance you find yourself in and weighing up possible outcomes believing that the circumstance is true and again, unchangeable. Whenever you decide the circumstance is unchangeable, you are of little faith.

C) Matt 14:30-31 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (NKJV)

3) “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Little faith is doubt. When you doubt God’s word you are of little faith. Jesus spoke to Peter and commanded him to walk on the water. Peter obeyed and started walking. Then he started looking at the natural circumstance he found himself in and thought, “It is not possible for a person to walk on water. Jesus couldn’t have meant I was to do this impossible thing?” Immediately his faith changed to little faith and he started sinking. Questioning God’s word and commands makes your faith little because you doubt His Word’s ability to supersede the circumstance you are in.

D) Matt 16:8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?” (NKJV)
“O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?”

4) Recognizing lack and looking to your own ability is little faith. Looking at the natural circumstance you find yourself in and thinking that there is a mountain that can’t be moved is little faith. Do you see a pattern developing here? The next two verses are the same verse, but taken from two different translations. Notice the difference in the words:

E) Matt 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (NIV)
Matt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. (NKJV)

5) Little faith is unbelief. You see, there are at the same time two realities existing in our lives. The natural reality and the spiritual reality. Little faith is believing the spiritual reality is unable to influence the natural reality. Little faith is judging the outcome of a situation based on what you can naturally perceive with your senses and by relying on your feelings. Faith is judging the outcome regardless of what you can perceive and regardless of what and how you feel. Whatever reality you choose to believe in, is what will be true in your life. Faith is believing that the spiritual reality of God’s Kingdom is superior to our natural reality. The understanding that you have the authority and power to make the natural reality obey the spiritual one is faith.

THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF GOD

PRESS INTO THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF HIS GLORY

When we look into the Old Testament Tabernacle every article has meaning and many spiritual lessons and revelation of Jesus type. All the 3 compartments of the Tabernacle of Moses teaches us to move from our self consciousness to God consciousness. The first two are the Outer court and the Holy Place.

The articles in the Outer Court of the Tabernacle we have the brazen altar and the brazen laver where the animal sacrifices were made and the washing of sins. God wants us to move on to the Holy Place and into the Holy of Holies. The Outer Court speaks of judgment upon sin and there is a constant reminder of sins. The believer who dwells in this realm will not able to go forward far in their spiritual lives because they will be constantly burden with guilt and caught by being sin consciousness or self consciousness.

The articles in the Holy Place has three things there. The Lampstand, Table of Showbread and Altar of Incense. These speaks to me about Grace and the Light of Jesus. We press into the realm of Grace. When we are in this place we will be more Grace Conscious, Righteous and Word Conscious. Both the Holy Place and Holy of Holies were made mainly of gold. Gold speaks of purity and the glory of God.

As we move deeper into the Tabernacle, our consciousness of God increases. We will be more conscious of God’s purity, power and presence. The glory of God will be increased. The Holy of Holies speaks of our spirit – that part of our being which is God conscious. This is the place or realm that we speak of "Glory Consciousness". So from Sin consciousness we move into Grace and Righteous consciousness and into the last realm of Glory consciousness.

The consciousness of God and His presence will permeate us in our lives as we spent time fellowshipping with God in the Holy of Holies. This is knowing the Father from the beginning. In First John 2:12 says, "I write to you little children because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake. (Outer Court) And verse 13. I write to you fathers, because you have known Him from the beginning. (Holy of Holies realm) I write to you young men, (Holy Place realm) because you are strong and the Word of God abides in you and you have overcome the wicked one." Yes, from little children to young men to fathers.

If we want to live a godly life, we must be more conscious of God and chose to live and walk in the realm of the Holy of Holies. When we are more conscious of God’s Presence, power and glory, our faith level will increase and it will be easier for us to believe for miracles. This is the dimension that God wants us to move in our spirit in these last days.

When we enter into the Holy of Holies, we receive 30 fold, 60 fold and a 100 fold blessings. (Outer court, Holy place and Holy of Holies) Without exception our lives will be fruitful – producing the hundredfold. These are the ones who has passed from the Outer Court and gone beyond the Holy Place and enter into the riches of His glory and blessings. There is an increased spiritual fruitfulness and productivity. This is where we called the realm of multiplication- “Peace and Grace be multiply to you” We are able to touch multitudes like Jesus in our ministry.
Then we go from the good, the better and the Best.

In I Corinthians 12:31 says “But earnestly desire the best….” We want the best. God’s best blessings, richest anointing and powerful presence in our lives. So the Best of the best is in the Holy of Holies where God Almighty dwells. Now Jesus the High Priest of the New Covenant has opened the way for us to personally enter into the Holy of Holies.

In Numbers 18:12 says “All the best of the oil, all the best of the new wine and the grain of their firstfruits which they offer to the Lord, I have given them to you.” All the best blessings are found in the Holy of Holies where the Glory of God dwells – the Ark of the Covenant. The life that we live with grace, beauty, purpose and power in the Spirit.

Each of the three areas of the Tabernacle was illuminated by different kinds of light. The Outer Court shines by the natural light from the sun, moon and stars. The light of the Holy Place was the Golden Lampstand. But the Holy of Holies was lit up by glory and from the Shekinah Glory – from God Himself. Out of the three the Shekinah Glory was the brightest that blinded Apostle Paul’s eyes when he saw the glory of Christ. When Stephen died he saw the glory of God as the people were stoning him. He felt no pain. God says “Let there be light” Psalms 36:9 says, “In Your light we see light.”

When we see His light, we see things in the light of eternity. You will see everything for a purpose and His Perfect will for your life. In the Outer Court you see “His Permissive Will”, in the Holy Place we see “His Acceptable Will” but in the Holy of Holies we see “His Perfect Will”. And to stop at the Holy place is to stop short of His Perfect will into His ultimate glory realm. From grace to glory and from glory to glory!

For Roman 12:2 says, “Don’t become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants – what is good, pleasing and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”

May the Grace and Glory of God be in you!
