DELIVERED INTO THE GRACE OF GOD

2 Peter 2:5 says “And God did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of the eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly … vs. 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed with the filthy conduct of the wicked vs. 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) vs. 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.”

Noah was a man who lived at a time (Genesis 5:21-32, 6:1 – 13) when the wickedness of the human race for a long time had provoked the wrath of God. The Bible tells us that the unrighteousness in the land was such that:
There was the inter-marriage of "the sons of God" with the "daughters of men" (Genesis 6:l4). The Bible tells about the of fallen angels and their spiritual defilement of the children of men on earth (Jude 6, 2 Peter 2:5, 1 Peter 3:20). These unnatural inter-marriage produced extraordinary men i.e. Giants who filled the whole the earth, with violence and all kinds of immorality and corruption. (Genesis 6: l-4, 6:13). The result was that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and the imagination of the thoughts of his was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)

For once, Noah faced the same circumstances that Christians face today.

“As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:36–39, NKJV).

These are the days we are living in even the righteous soul (Noah and Lot) has been tormented by the evil and lawless deeds. The bible says fallen angels and their spiritual defilement on the children of men on earth with violence and all kinds of immorality. Their thoughts and imaginations were only for evil continually.

Friend, our souls has been tormented daily by seeing and hearing all these evils but we don’t have to worry the bible says “But God knows how to deliver the godly out of every evil situations and temptations to keep them blameless.”

The scriptures encourage us to “look forward” – 2 Peter 2:12Looking for the hastening of the coming of the day of God …” vs. Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for the new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

Vs. 14 “Looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.” Vs. 17 “beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; vs. 18 “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”

The grace of God will keep us blameless and in peace from all wicked ways. And also the experiential knowledge of the Lord (relating to and providing experience) helps us to grow and know the Lord Jesus.

Scriptures:

I Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
The way to escape is the way of Grace. The way Jesus walks and talks.

Hebrews 2:18 “For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to help them that are tempted.”

Hebrew 4:15 - “but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

2 Peter 2:9 "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly (righteous) out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust to the day of judgement..."
