GRACE
THE UNMERITED FAVOR OF GOD
Grace is possibly one of the most misunderstood concepts by
Christians today. And yet Grace is integral to our walk with God – for Grace is
actually Jesus Christ. He is Grace personified.
His Grace is evident through the work of the Gospel – for the Gospel itself is
Grace.
Grace certainly is unmerited favor. Grace is not something you
earn by works. To enjoy grace is to enjoy favor. As children of God, we need
favor because favor gives us access to the things we need. Listed below are
some of the scriptures the grace of God are mentioned
Firstly, the Grace mentioned here is the Blessing of God
I Peter 1:9,10 AMP mentioned ”prophets who prophesied of the grace (divine blessing)
which was intended for you….”
Grace
can be understood in terms of the blessings we receive from God. Notice the
bible uses the words grace and divine blessing together here. It tells us that
God’s blessing is on our lives is another form of grace. When God blesses us
more it tells us that His grace is upon us. We will receive multiple
blessings. God’s multiple blessings are
His favor.
Secondly, we see Grace manifests Thankfulness through you.
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly … spiritual
songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Grace
is defined here as thankfulness and gratitude.
Once you begin to praise and worship the Lord, you will start to
experience a grace in your heart toward Him. (eg. Paul and Silas in prison)
Praising and worshiping God activates faith. And faith in turn activates grace.
It also takes grace to worship God in spirit and in truth.
Thirdly, we have the Grace of Life in us.
1 Peter 3:7 says, “Likewise, ye husband, dwell with them according to
knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being
heirs together of the grace of life.
The bible teaches that there’s a grace of life in marriage.
Married people need God’s grace in full operation because it’s not easy to walk
in love. There are times you have to do
it by faith. It takes God’s grace to say “I do” and it is God’s grace part
“done”. God’s work is to do a complete
job to perfection in our marriage life.
We do not struggle in our own strength and ability but just rely on the
grace of God to work, even to change us.
And lastly, Grace As The Calling Of God
Ephesians 4:5-7 “”unto
every one of us is given grace”
Every
believer receives a measure of faith and also receives a measure of grace. We need the grace to fulfill our heavenly
calling. Each one of us have supernatural favor of God. God will give you the
ability, the strength, the power and authority to do more than you could ever
imagine you could do.
