Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” – Jude 1:24-25 KJV
It appears that many have been conditioned to exercise greater belief in failing than faith in a God who knows no failure. And thus many fall into sin because they allow desire for the flesh to take precedence over their hunger and thirst for righteousness. Hence giving up the greater part of themselves to the world while giving God the leftovers, so to speak.
And to make matters worse, many even try to justify sinning by assuming that it isn’t possible to live in obedience to God’s commandments. In this way they inadvertently nullify God’s promise to keep them from falling, and thereby suggest that the flesh is stronger than the Spirit. Thus, they blaspheme God. Grace must be affective and effective. Grace must not be no effect on us. FOR SIN SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU! FOR YOU ARE UNDER GRACE!
I think we need to stop downplaying the power and authority of God over our lives and start believing that He can actually deliver us from evil by the power of His Gracious Grace and His Glorious Blood. In other words, we need to stop making excuses for sinning and start demonstrating what it really means to exercise faith in God.
So, when temptation comes knocking on your door, don’t say here am I. Instead, run and fall to your knees asking God’s Gracious Grace to empower you with strength to overcome it. You may be surprised to see just how powerful God’s Grace really is! For where there’s a will, Jesus is The Way For Victory! GOD IS ABLE TO DO THE WORK IN US AND FOR US!
