THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM

EPHESIANS 1:17, 18
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, …

The Seven Spirit of God - Isaiah 11:2
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of
the fear of the Lord;

Definition:

The Spirit of Wisdom is different from the Word of Wisdom.  (Gift)
In the Word of Wisdom – You receive supernaturally from God a portion of His wisdom to know what to say or do as Jesus did at the right time at that moment.
The Spirit of Wisdom is in your life – you are able to say and do the right things, in the right way, at the right time daily.

The Greek Word

Wisdom from Greek ‘sophia’ – complete or superior intelligence, skill in making the right use of knowledge.

2) WISDOM BEGINS

Wisdom begins with the Fear of the Lord – Proverbs 9:10
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. – Proverbs 2:6

Obedience to the Word

fear of the Lord is always seen in obedience to the Word of God.  - Prov. 8:13.
People who do not walk in line with God's Word do not fear the Lord, regardless of what they profess with their lips.

(Oswald Chambers, "The remarkable thing about fearing God is that, when you fear God, you fear nothing else; whereas, if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.")

3) DRAW WISDOM FROM ABOVE

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace” (James 3:13-18).

4) SPIRITUAL HOUSE BUILD BY WISDOM

Prov. 9:1 -  Wisdom hath build her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars

Proverbs 24:3-4 – By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5) The TREASURE OF WISDOM is in Christ Alone

“… is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”  - Colossian 2:3

6) The Source of Wisdom & Understanding – James 1:12

What the manifestation of wisdom looks like, from the book of James:
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

7) THE TWO WISDOM

The Wisdom of the World – Natural

    a. Wisdom is earthly – James 3:15
    b. Wisdom is unspiritual – Jas. 3:15
    c.  Wisdom is of the evil – bitter envy & selfish ambition.

The Wisdom from Heaven – Heavenly Wisdom

    a. Heaven is an equivalent word for God.
    b. God delights to give you wisdom – Jas. 1:5
