CONTROLLING SPIRIT

1 KINGS 21:1-26; 25

25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

 

WHAT IS CONTROLLING SPIRITS?

1) Controlling spirit will drive you to “behave” or obsessed you very abominable into following idols rather than God – 1 Kings. 21:25

2) Controlling spirit controls leadership authority.

Controlling Spirit Will Limit You

 

3) Controlling spirit will limit and hinder you and your ministry. 

What you can do and can’t do? It hinders the anointing and the gift in you.

When you preach against idolatry – it manifest

When you preach against religion – it manifest

When you preach against sin and calling to repentance and holiness

When you preach against finance – stingy spirit will manifest.  

Controlling spirit will take control of everything that honor God.

Controlling spirit would not like to submit to God’s Word and authority.  

4) Controlling spirit will drive you to disobey God.

Story of Balaam & Balak – Numbers 22:15-22

15 And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.

16 And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saidth Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:

17 For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

Balaam was asked to curse Israel – Num. 22:15-22.  God told Balaam not to and later God allow Balaam to go. But on the way God was angry and send an angel to warn Balaam and the donkey.  God allow it but it is not His permissive will. Like God did not change His mind.  (Israel still wants a king)

So Controlling spirit cause us to come against God’ Word.  Instead of blessing we curse Gods people.  He compromised because Balaam was manipulated by honor and money that Balak offer to him more than he want to obey God.  So he was controlled by Balak to do evil.

 

ELIJAH AND JEZEBEL

How Elijah ran away from Jezebel without finishing the job and ministry from God. What Happen?  (1 Kings 19:1-16; 19)

Later Elijah confronted Ahab and Jezebel. He spoke against the spirit behind Jezebel saying,“The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jazreel.” 

 The man Elijah that ran from Jezebel returned and confronted against her (not with flesh and blood) but with the Spirit and spoke to her this words.  With that it destroy the power and the spirit of Jezebel (Controlling spirit).  This he could do it when he was much prepared after the Horeb 40 days praying fasting with the cake from the angels of God and comforted of God. He returned with new strength from God.  Controlling spirit can control a city or nation.)

 

LET THE HOLY SPIRIT CONTROLS YOU

Romans 8:9   - New Living Translation
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.

(And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Be servants of God not of man’s manipulation.  Do not be manipulated by honor and money that Balak offer to curse.  Today there are good man who does the will of God. They have a heart of God and will to do the will of God. (like David)  So submit to the Spirit of God and it will bring peace to your soul. Even ask God in the business venture.  Will I be manipulated or controlled?  Will I be blessed?

 

5) Controlling Spirit Brings Bondage to your Life 

Try to speak to a controlling spirit.  Can you please stop that?  You confront them by casting them out. Don’t give an opportunity to the devil. 

Like fear – Can you please do not fear?  Fear has torment spirit.

Controlling spirit torments your life into compromise, wrong submission, disobedience, rebellion, pride, idolatry, dormant/stagnant, you will behave oddly and so obsessed.  (Like a man control a lady into giving her body every time they met.)

 

How to Be Free From Demonic Control?

·         Recognize that you are being control.  (fearful, intimidated, running away, insecure, inadequate, obligated to spend time with someone)

·         Recognize how the person controls you. (put guilt, fear, anger, tears, threat , frustrations, confusion, etc.) or taking advantage of you, always telling you to do something against your will.

·         Confront your controller.

·         Be Bold and Be Loving.

 

CONCLUSION & PRAYER

In the Name of Jesus and His Blood I am now breaking controlling spirit and power.  God wants controlling spirit to be broken in your lives.  You will be set free. You may be charmed and controlled but others. Jesus have given us the victory already by confronting Satan and his works at the cross.  So act on His Victory and Triumph.  Exercise the victory and power given by God to cast out the spirits.
