LONGING FOR THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Text: Psalms 84:1-12

A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. 

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.” vs. 1,2 

A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Who are they? The Ministry of the Sons of Korah are similar to Zadok ministry in Ezek. 44:15-24.

1)   They are allowed to minister beyond the outer courts and within – Holy of Holies.vs.17

2)   When they ministered they must not cause sweat vs. 18

     3) Their lifestyle were a holy people. vs. 20

     4) They are allowed to teach and discern and judge and stand in judgment.  They keep God’s laws. They are ministers.  vs.23

A)  The Psalm speaks of “the loveliness of God’s Dwelling Place.” vs. 1-3

“How amiable or lovely, my soul longeth, even fainteth, my flesh cried out for the living God.”

Ø It’s the work of Holy Spirit that draw us to the Holy of Holies.  The days and seasons of His Presence are here.  The Church must know how to tap into it. 

     a) This is the Vision of the Last Day Church.

Ø The Church continues to move toward His Presence in passion for God yet in humble obedience, there lay ahead a Great Glory and Harvest.

Ø For the Church – there be an intense Drawing Near to God. An intense prayer and fasting toward God. It’s an earnest time of drawing near to God.

Ø Your ministry priesthood will be like Zadok is a unique ministry.  True worshippers in Glory realms. You only worship God in the Glory. 

B)  Longing For God’s Presence - Psa. 84:1-12

1.    The Dwelling Place of God is a Sanctuary vs. 1-3

    2.   The Dwelling Place is a place of Praise v.4

    3.   The Dwelling Place is a place of Rain v.6

    4.   The Dwelling Place is a place of Strength v.7

    5.   The Dwelling Place is a place of Prayer v.8

    6.   The Dwelling Place is a place of Anointing.

         vs. 9,10

    7.  The Dwelling Place will give you grace and Glory v.11

   8.  The Dwelling Place is a place where “good things” are found

         v.11

Application:

We know the presence of God as we worship God. Are you feeling separated from God? Worship Him. Are you feeling that God is distant? Worship Him. Are you feeling that you have drifted from God? Declare His glory. Magnify His name.  Right there where you are!

Come to the Dwelling Place of God.

Sis. Marti Duke says, “What you desire in life is found in the Presence of God”. As you worship God and usher His Presence – as you cry for Him, long for Him, yearns for the Living God – your valley of Baca will become wells of salvation and rain will fill it. 

 You are a well in a valley of grief and disappointment but God will fill it up your well of with joy, peace and love.

MAY THE GLORY OF GOD GOES WITH YOU FULFILLING HIS PURPOSE AND WILL FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
