Can we really hear God's voice? Does God really speak to us? To many of us often doubt if we are hearing
from God until we learn to recognize the ways God speaks to us.
The hearing of faith
is our hearing with the spiritual ear is a process of faith. Hearing in the
spirit is therefore the hearing of
faith. We hear from our spirit man.
Therefore, hearing
of faith is necessary in all the operations with the Holy Spirit. We must hear by faith the specific
revelation and direction from the Holy Spirit before preaching, teaching,
healing and prophesying under the anointing of the Spirit.
Galatians 3:2 says, “Did
you receive the Spirit by works of law, or by the hearing of faith?”
A.
Firstly, it requires
faith to hear in the spirit. Our spirit hears from God Spirit living inside us.
a.
Hearing with your
natural ear is the hearing of facts.
b.
Hearing of faith is opposite to natural hearing ( 2 Cor. 5: 7)
c.
Two keys to hear and
understand by faith.
- Yielding – (of a person) Complying with the requests or desires of others: "a gentle, yielding person". Listen to what God says – Go, Stay, Pray just like the prophets of old.
- Believing – accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of God speaking.
Ephesians
1:18 says, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know
what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints,
19
And what is the exceeding greatness of his
power to us-ward who believe according to the
working of his power..."
B.
The Spiritual
law of “ Hearing of faith”
a.
We experience the
baptism in the Holy Spirit by
hearing of faith – Galatians 3:2 - New International Version (NIV)
“ I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you
receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?”
b.
We experience
miracles by hearing of faith.
Galatians 3:5 - New International Version (NIV)
"So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work
miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you
heard?"
c.
We experience
salvation by hearing of faith -
Romans 10 :8 – 10;
Galatians 3:7-8 - English
Standard Version (ESV)
7 Know then that it is
those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the
Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel
beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”
d.
On God’s side he
performs mighty deeds through speaking to his prophets.
Amos 3: 7 - English
Standard Version (ESV)
“For the Lord God does nothing without revealing
his secret to his servants the prophets.
“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth
his secret unto his servants the
prophets.” KJV.
e.
Paul operated with this principle.
- In his evangelistic ministry - Galatians 1: 12
- In his preaching ministry – I Corinthians 2 :10, v 13
- In his traveling ministry – Gal 2: 1,2 cf Ac 15: 1 –4
- In his calling from God – Ephesians 3:3, I Tim 4 : 14, 15
f.
Our Lord Jesus
operated with this principle also.
- Whatever he saw the father do, he also did ( John 5: 19)
- As he hears from the father, he judges - ( John 5: 30)
- As the father taught him, he spoke – John 8: 28
- He received command of what he should say and speak, and he spoke likewise – John 12 : 49
C.
Speaking forth his “Rhema
word” as you hear by faith.
a.
Anointed preaching
releases penetrative spiritual power.
I Cor. 2 : 4 “My message and my preaching were
not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s
power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but
on God’s power.”
John 6
: 63-
New
International Version (NIV)
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The
words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”
b.
Effective gifts are
spoken and released after revelation gifts are received.
1 Corinthians
12:7-11 - New International Version (NIV)
7 Now
to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To
one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message
of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same
Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another
miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between
spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still
another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and
the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
c.
Vocal spiritual
release of corporate authority from the manifested presence of God.
Acts
13:1-3 - King James Version (KJV)
They
were in the Antioch church and…
2 As
they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me
Barnabas and Saul for the work where unto I have called them.”
3 And
when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them
away. Paul and Barnabas were vocally released
by the Apostles mouth in the presence of God during prayer and fasting.
Acts 4:24
& 31 says, “After they raise their voice with one accords in prayer and
with one voice to God they shook the place. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke
the word of God boldly.”
D.
Increase your effectiveness
in the hearing of faith.
a.
Hearing of faith is
spontaneous. Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God also.
b.
Hearing of faith is
a love relationship. You stay close to God's presence each time, even you are eating.
John
10:27 – The Good sheep hear and follow God’s voice.
John
15:10, 11 – Peace and Joy are an indicator of
a strong relationship with God.
c.
You can impart only what
you have received into your spirit. Prov.
4:23. Luke 6:45. It’s the Spirit of God in you that gives life
to hearers.
d.
Speak from your
spirit. Not from your head. It’s a Spirit to spirit ministry.
1. They
will be washed and cleansed each time rhema word comes forth and
touches their spirits – Ephesians 5 :26
