WALKING IN THE FAVOR OF THE LORD – Proverbs 13:15

A)     WHAT IS THE FAVOR OF THE LORD?

     The Webster dictionary defines favor as:

1.   Friendly regard from a superior
2.   Gracious kindness
3.   Special attention or token of love
4.   Special privileges granted

In the Old Testament, there are basically three types of favor:

       a. CHEN (2580) / CHANAN (2603) 

       b. CHESEDH (2617) 

       c. RATSON (7521) / RATSAH (7522)

B) WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF FAVOR?

    

      1. GOD'S FAVOR RELEASE THE PROPHETIC WORD - GENESIS 18:3   

New International Version (NIV)

3 He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord,[a] do not pass your servant by. 4 Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”

       2. FAVOR CAUSES US TO PROSPER - GENESIS 39:21-23

       3. FAVOR PROTECTS US - PSALMS 5:12

       4. FAVOR RELEASES CANCELLATION OF DEBTS - ISAIAH 40:1,2

       5. FAVOR (CHEN) BRINGS RESPECTS. - EXODUS 11:3

GOD BRINGS PEOPLE INTO OUR LIVES TO PROMOTE US!                        

GOD REMOVES PEOPLE FROM US TO PROTECT US!

 

B)      HOW TO ATTRACT THE FAVOR OF GOD – Proverbs  3:3-4

1.       ASK FOR HIS FAVOR TO BE ACTIVE IN OUR LIFE – Psalms 5:12; 90:17; 102:13

2.       WE NEED TO SOW FAVOR TO OTHERS – Philippians 2:4; John 13:34-35

3.       SEEK HIS TRUTH AND MERCY –  Prov. 13:15; 4:7; Jas 3:13-17
