Genesis 2:7
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
Job 33:4
“The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
Today, let’s take a fresh breath of inspiration from the Spirit of God that has made us, and a deep breath of the Almighty that gives us life.
A. The Holy Spirit Give us Breathing-in of Life
Christ as the Breather of the Holy Spirit, reveals the intimate relationship there is between them and shows the Life-giver and the Life given.
Spiritual life is essentially the impartation of the Spirit, as Christ declares, “that which is begotten of the Spirit is spirit.”
B. The Dry Bones
In Ezekiel 37:4-10 – The prophecy of Prophet Ezekiel to the dry bones. God says, “I will cause breath to enter in you and you shall live.” When Ezekiel prophesied the shaking dry bones came to each other and was covered with sinews and flesh but there were no breath in them.
Then Ezekiel was commanded to prophesy to the bones and say “Thus saith the Lord God, come from the four winds, O Breath, and breathe upon those slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the Breath came into them, and they lived.”
C. God’s Life in You
In Romans 6:11 – the statement “alive unto God” the Greek word rendered “alive” is “ZOE” and is a verb and means to live. This is applied to the spiritual life. It is a God imparted and a Christ secured life, for Christ came by the way of the Cross that we might “live through Him” (1 John 4:9)
The
New Testament concerning the Spirit is “the life-giving Spirit”.
This aspect of the Spirit is for imparting life. First Corinthians 15:45 says,
“So also it is written, ‘the first man, Adam, became a living soul’; the last
Adam became a life-giving Spirit.” The last Adam is Christ (Rom. 5:14) who
terminated the old creation through His death on the cross. Then in
resurrection the last Adam, Christ, became a life-giving Spirit to germinate
the new creation. Now in resurrection Christ as the life-giving Spirit imparts
Himself as life into all of His believers. The life-giving Spirit is Christ in
resurrection as the Spirit giving life to His believers.
D. Inspiration Comes By the Spirit of God
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.
All scriptures is God’s breathe. The word “inspired” is the “God breathe into it or God’s breath” That is why is is profitable for teaching because it is inspired or give life. It is good for training in righteousness – Training disciples for living the life of God.
E. The Spirit Gives Us the Power to Perform
Acts 1:8 – “You shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you”
The Holy Spirit is the power and he brings the power. He does not give us the power that we may use it, but He is the power that He may use us. The power is not for our own use. He will send us to heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead.
F. The Sevenfold Power of the Spirit
There are sevenfold power that believers need: namely,
power to be, power to do, power to suffer, power to keep, power to pray,
power to give and power to speak.
If we want to be used of God greatly in ministry then we need to know the sevenfold power of the Spirit. We are empowered to be
“Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness”. Col. 1:11
3. Power to suffer – Paul learned in the school of suffering, through prayer and faith and said “I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may spread a tent over me” – 2 Cor. 12:9
4. Power to keep – the true and effectual keeping is to be “kept by the power of God.” Is keeping is instant and constant, like the eyelid preserving the eye.
5. Power to pray – the reason why the Lord is able to do above anything we ask or think, is because of “the power that worketh in us” – Eph. 3:20. We have not use much of the power that worketh in us for the bible says “The Spirit Himself maketh intercession” and we need to be in the spirit to pray and intercede. Praying in the Holy Spirit as Jude says.
6. Power to Give - Paul mentioned the liberality of the churches in Macedonia says: “according to their power, I bear witness, yea, and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord” 2 Cor. 8:3. There is a giving that call the grace of giving. A giving out of your spirit as a cheerful giver. It is not how little can be given but how much is Christ worthy!
7. Power to Speak
The bible says “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit … and with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus” – Acts 4:31, 33.
Jeremiah says, “I cannot speak, for I am a child”; but filled with the Spirit, the Lord says to him “Behold I have put My Words in thy mouth” – Jeremiah 1:6, 9
Conclusion
In summary – we shall never be anything, nor continue to be anything, except we “know Him” in the power of His life,
in the strength of His might,
in the glow of His love,
in the lowliness of His humility,
in the sanctity of His holiness,
in the wisdom of His guidance,
in the inspiration of His Word and
in the glory of His Personality.
May God Bless You And Your Family

25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
