LIVING IN THE LOVE OF GOD

THE LOVE OF GOD

         1 John 4:7-10

Someone says, “It’s not the love for God that saved us.  It is the love of God that saved us” not that we love God but He first love us.

1. Love Is From God First

The Great Commandment

“You shall love your God with all you heart, soul, mind and strength and yourself”

How many of you can do that? No one of course! We fall short of our love for Him.

Peter and John

Peter who boasted his love for God. He told Jesus, “Where you go I’ll go. Where you feed I’ll swallow and even die for you”.

But Peter denied Jesus 3 times in front of a small girl.

But John was depending on Jesus love for him not on his love for the Lord. John was always found leaning on Jesus bosom.

2. Love Can Be Addicted

David was addicted to God’s love.  We can get drunk in the love of God.

David says, “your lovingkindness is better than life,”

Song of Solomon says, “your love to me is better than wine.” It is an intoxicated love.

Jude Gives Instruction to Believers Today

Jude 21 – “keep yourself in the love of God”.

Keep yourself in the conscious enjoyment of God’s love for you.

How many knows God love all of us? But not all of us enjoy that love or aware of that love for us.

The more we know this agape love – the more you will grow up and rooted and grounded in His love.

3. Gods Love Release Boldness

                   1 John 4:17

Ø  “Love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment.”

Ø  Question: How can we have boldness”

Ø  Answer: In the day of judgment

Unless God has done something in us. God’s Perfect love in us cast out all fear even the fear of judgment.

4. God’s Love Can Release Faith

Like the Centurion who was conscious of Jesus love and not his faith, yet – Jesus says, “your faith has made your son whole”.

He was conscious of Jesus love for him and not self, not even his faith.

Grace leads you to look to the love of God to meet your needs.

God’s Love Is The Same.

                    In John 17:23

Jesus prayed, “Father made them realized that you have love them just as thou has love Me.”

How much Father love Jesus? Is it the same?

God loves you not less. The same way God loves Jesus, He also love us.

Conclusion

May God Bless You and Your Family
